Cómo no he posteado ningún disco de esta gente desde que escribo en este blog?
No alcanzo a entender...
Pero bueno, me ha venido de perlas, porque aprovechando que este fin de semana (largo) me escapo a Bruselas, que mejor que despedirme momentáneamente de vosotros con una pequeña recopilación de los últimos discos, remixes, rarezas de este dúo belga.
El grupo Soulwax se creó en Gante (preciosa ciudad a menos de una hora en tren de Bruselas) en el año 1995, los fundadores fueron los hermanos David y Stephen Dewaele, conocidos años después por sus brutales sesiones, bajo el seudónimo de 2 many dj´s.
Los 9 primeros años del grupo sacaron 3 referencias que si que generaron cierto revuelo underground en Bélgica, pero no fue hasta 2004 con su disco "Any Minute Now", cuando este grupo obtuvo el reconocimiento internacional, con rompepistas como "NY Excuse" o "E Talking".
Pero la historia del proyecto paralelo de los hermanos Dewaele empezó a gestarse 5 años antes.
Con la salida de la segunda referencia de Soulwax "Much Against Everyone's Advice (1999)", la radio belga concedió un programa a David y Stephen, "Hang the DJ", y fue en este programa donde dieron rienda suelta a su creatividad con unas sesiones que iniciarían lo que ahora es el fenómeno "2 Many Djs".
La verdad que es muy complicado seguir la discografía de esta gente, así que he decido poneros a vuestra disposición los discos más importantes (como siempre, desde mi punto de vista) de los hermanos dewaele, tanto de su primer grupo Soulwax como de su poryecto paralelo como 2 Many Dj´s.
